Ashley's pre-trip thoughts

Internship:   Kid's Talk Lab within the University of Sydney, interning in pediatric speech and language disorders and development. I will also be helping on research within the university setting.

Why are you participating in the Augustana in Australia program?   I want to immerse myself in the Australian culture-it is such an awesome place.

What value do you hope to add back to the internship site?  I am hardworking and eager to learn.  I am just ecstatic to have this opportunity and am ready to give 110% at my internship. I will apply my CSD and liberal arts classes to this internship as well.

What do you hope to learn on your internship?   I hope to enhance my knowledge and skills needed in order to be a competent speech language pathologist. This will also help me in my graduate studies.

Where do you plan to travel during your term "down under"?   I plan to take two big trips while I am "down under."  The first I plan to take a trip to Cairns (Great Barrier Reef) - snorkeling and exploring the reef.  My second trip is spring break in New Zealand!  In New Zealand I plan on white water rafting, bungee jumping, and hiking in the mountains.

What do you anticipate to be the highlight of your experience "down under"?  I definitely cannot pick one highlight.  I know that every experience I encounter "down under" from my internship to exploring the wonderful city of Sydney will be experiences of a lifetime.

Other comments.   So excited!
