Study Ancient Cultures in Greece (Spring 2014)

A 2014 Spring Course in Ancient Cultures with 2 weeks of study in Greece in early Summer

This program consists of a 10-week program combining Classics (Ancient Greek Culture) and Art History taught on campus during the Spring 2014 term, followed by a 2-week immersion experience in Greece.  Students will visit sites throughout the Greek mainland and islands to explore the ancient world as they travel through the modern.

Academics:  Students in this program will be enrolled in a 3-credit course on Ancient Greek Culture as well as a 1-credit Art History course, creating a Learning Community during the Spring trimester.  They may also enroll in other courses at Augustana as the summer immersion program will not interfere with Spring trimester coursework.   No knowledge of modern or ancient Greek language is required.

Program sites include Athens, Corinth, Mycenae, Olympia, Delphi and Mykonos.

Cost:  Tentative cost is set at $4,900.

Contact: Dr. Kirsten Day (Classics)

The Application Period for the 2014 program is CLOSED.

The next anticipated Greece Program is Spring of 2016.
