Michael Nolan has long served as the English Department utility infielder, teaching first-year writing, general-education literature, business writing, and journalism. His areas of academic interest are American literature, writing and cognitive development, and American humor. He advises the student newspaper, the Augustana Observer, and teaches news and magazine writing. He is currently in voluntary exile in the Academic Deans office where he works on faculty development, the honors program, the Celebration of Learning, and assessment and accreditation.
