The Faculty

Laura E. Greene, Assistant Professor
B.A. Williams; M.A., Ph. D. Cornell

Laura Greene teaches British Literature, with a special interest in Victorian fiction. In addition to her duties in the English Department, she regularly teaches in both the Honors and the Women's Studies Programs. A recent honors course, co-taught with Kevin Geedey in biology, traced the influence of Darwin's scientific theories on Victorian fiction and culture. Her research interests currently involve exploring how students learn; she was named a Carnegie Scholar in 2003-2004 to pursue a research project on what kinds of questions students ask in response to course readings.
