The concept of healthy gender identity is important yet often unexplored. Join Dr. Tracy Davis for an interactive program that will investigate the media's influence on identity through the use of advertisements and sitcom clips. Dr. Davis is an Associate Professor of College Student Personnel at Western Illinois University. His research and expertise include gender identity development, sexual assault prevention, leadership, and social justice.

The novel follows the life of the medical doctor and humanitarian Paul Farmer who found his life’s calling in medical school: to cure infectious diseases and to bring the lifesaving tools of modern medicine to those who need them most. Kidder’s account takes us from Harvard to Haiti, Peru, Cuba and Russia as Farmer changes people’s minds through his dedication to the philosophy that “the only real nation is humanity.” Tracy Kidder graduated from Harvard, studied at the University of Iowa, and served as an army officer in Vietnam. He has won the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, the Robert F. Kennedy Award, and many other literary prizes. He is the author of Home Town, Old Friends, Among Schoolchildren, House, and The Soul of a New Machine.

Tickets are$8 for full-time students, children and Augustana faculty/staff; $16 and $13 for the general public; and $13 and $11 for senior citizens. 9 p.m. CUBOM Special Event – Chapter 6
Emerging from a college course, Chapter 6 became the premier jazz a cappella ensemble at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and were crowned the 2001 International Champions of Collegiate A Cappella. Making their professional debut in 2001 as well, this group from the Chicago area has received numerous awards and recognition for their technique, performance, and unique, original arrangements. Their comedy-infused blend of pop, jazz, gospel and rock brings spontaneous bursts of laughter and applause throughout the show.
