Melissa McBain has been named "Outstanding Artist 2005."  Melissa received the first annual Lloyd Schoeneman Community Impact Award for her passion for the arts and impact on the Quad Cities.  The award was made in one of four categories at the annual Quad City Arts Annual Meeting.

 

Dan Connolly was invited to write a review of a new book on medieval maps by Daniel Birkholz,   The King's Two Maps: Cartography and Culture in Thirteenth-Century England.  That review has just been published by the online, scholarly review journal,  The Medieval Review, and is available at:

Dave DeWit's paper, "Predicting Inorganic Reaction Products:  A Critical Thinking Exercise in General Chemistry," has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Chemical Education.  It should appear sometime in 2006.
