Reception for Nancy B. Loitz

Nancy Loitz has accepted the position of Associate Dean of the College. Her duties will include General Education, First Year Experience and Advising. Nancy is Director of the School of Theatre Arts and Professor of Theatre Arts at Illinois Wesleyan University. She received her MFA in directing from the University of Minnesota. Before joining the faculty at Illinois Wesleyan in 1986, she taught at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. She now teaches courses in acting (and other subjects) and directs regularly for Illinois Wesleyan. She has also directed at the Minnesota Repertory Theatre, the Interlochen Arts Camp, and the Huron Playhouse. She has served as a member of the regional executive board of the American College Theatre Festival.

 

All faculty are invited to a reception to meet Nancy on Monday, May 1st at 4:30 p.m. in the Tredway Library, 1st floor southeast corner.

Monday, May 1, 2006 at 10:00 am in Science 304; Research lecture titled "Science at the Nanoscale: Building Functional Materials Atom by Atom" (timed to coincide with the regular meeting time of two physics classes).

Eleanor Ferris Beach reads from her book The Jezebel Letters in the Tredway Library, Thursday, April 27, at 4:00 p.m. Combining biblical scholarship and fiction, Beach transforms the stereotype of the notorious biblical queen Jezebel into a more historically based portrayal of a powerful, literate royal woman. Beach teaches biblical studies at St.Ambrose University. Refreshments served and books for sale.
