Daniel Corts led a panel and presented a paper titled, "The Metaphorical Contagion: the Spread of Conceptual Mappings in One and Two-Person Discourse." His three student collaborators/copresenters were Sarah Konfirst, Kyle Ferguson, and Rosalind Nguyen. The paper was presented at Metaphor and Discourse: Where Cognition and Communication Meet 2nd International Workshop on February 2-3, 2006, Universitat Jaume I Castelló de la Plana, Spain.
Daniel also had two of his students publish a paper based on research they conducted here last year: "False Memories From Semantic Associates are Reduced by Item-Method Directed Forgetting Instructions." Jane Stout, Sarah Tauber, and Daniel P. Corts, Augustana College. This manuscript was published in the Winter 2005 issue of Psi Chi.
International Journal of the Humanities has received the final referee report for Dan Lee's work titled "Ensuring Academic Freedom for Students in the Classroom."
Rachel Magdalene has signed two contracts for entries in forthcoming Bible dictionaries. She will write seven entries for the New Interpreter's Bible Dictionary from Abingdon Press, most importantly "Inheritance in the OT." She will also co-write with Dr. Bruce Wells of Saint Joseph's University (Philadelphia) the entry "Law" for the Dictionary of the Old Testament: Wisdom, Poetry, and Writings from InterVarsity Press.
