Self Study Newsletter
This newsletter, the first of a short series of updates on the self study and process of accreditation, is part of the last effort. It is our hope that all members of the Augustana community (faculty, administration, students and staff) will be able to demonstrate to the visiting accreditation team that they are conversant with the essential elements of the self study. To that end, this issue of the newsletter announces plans in the works and gives an overview of the accreditation process. To review, click here.
Tredway Library News
I am delighted to announce that the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) has awarded the Thomas Tredway Library with its 2006 Excellence in Academic Libraries Award in the college division.
The ACRL announcement states that the "Thomas Tredway Library at Augustana College, winner of the college catergory, demonstrated success at implementing innovative library programs in order to enhance its involvement with faculty and students on campus."
You will find the link to the release here.
All of us on campus are well aware of the thoughtful, creative and energetic work of our colleagues in the library; please join me in congratulating Carla Tracy and the faculty and staff in the Tredway Library. Presentation of the award will take place on April 19 in a ceremony on campus.
The next Scholars' Retreat is to be held in Denver, CO in June, 2006. The title is "A Time and Place to Complete Your Thesis, Dissertation, or Writing Project." You can access the brochure here. (click on Next Retreat).
