TOM WEIGAND
Tom Weigand has spent more than 20 years as an entrepreneur in real estate, restaurants and urban planning. He earned his bachelor’s degree in geography from Augustana College (1985) in Rock Island, Ill., and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1989).
Weigand is currently founder and President of IWI Ventures, a Noodles & Company franchised area operator, whose development area includes central Illinois, Iowa and central Wisconsin. Weigand’s tenure with Noodles & Company began in 1995, as co-founder with Augustana alumnus Aaron Kennedy. Working as chief development officer and executive vice president, Weigand helped expand Noodles & Company to over 100 restaurants in 11 states. After retiring from management in 2004, Weigand created IWI Ventures to continue Noodles & Company’s expansion as a franchisee.
Weigand is also currently a co-founder and chief executive officer and of KSW Construction Corporation, based in the Madison, Wis., area. KSW construction specializes in commercial general contracting services throughout the upper Midwest. Weigand also owns TFW Ventures, a real estate development company which focuses on small retail, office and other commercial developments.
Prior to joining Noodles & Company, Weigand spent 15 years in real estate, city planning and city management. In 1992, he founded Urban Discovery, Inc., a Madison, Wis., commercial real estate development and brokerage firm. As a senior project director at Camiros, Ltd, a planning consulting firm, Weigand provided urban planning services to over 50 Midwest communities with populations up to 800,000. His professional career began as city manager in historic Galena, Ill., which attracts more than one million visitors annually.
Weigand currently serves on the board of trustees for Augustana College where he also chairs the Campus Planning Committee.
He lives in Verona, Wis., with his wife Laura and three children Mallory, Brandon and Raymond.
