Deere & Company (“John Deere”) is one of the oldest industrial companies in the United States. Company founder John Deere built the first commercially successful self-scouring steel plow in Grand Detour, Illinois, in 1837. Today, John Deere does business around the world, with operations in 35 countries. The company has more than 55,000 employees worldwide. John Deere is committed to those linked to the land. Our agricultural- and construction-equipment operations, in particular, help our customers address the requirements of a growing, more affluent population. Since our Company’s founding in 1837, we have been guided by the values that John Deere lived by: Integrity, Quality, Commitment and Innovation. We apply those values to our relationships, our products and services, stewardship of the environment, and the safety of our employees.
Tentative plans include: Students will be assigned to various Deere locations throughout the Quad Cities to job shadow a Deere employee. All students and hosts will convene for lunch as a group at Deere & Company corporate headquarters. An optional tour of one of our manufacturing facilities is attempting to be coordinated for the afternoon.
We would like to restrict registration with Deere & Company to students who are Accounting majors only, as our job shadows are focused on accounting positions within the Company. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are welcome!
