The student(s) will be given a tour of the library, noting the day-to-day activities and responsibilities of the various departments. After, they will meet with library administrators from different departments in the library to get a more in depth view of the inner workings of the library and to have a chance to ask questions. Once the meetings have concluded there will be a chance for further discussion and to revisit anything that the students may have had a particular interest in. This discussion will be followed (or continued) at an informal lunch on site. Topics vary but, aside from library operations and management, the subject matter will pertain mostly to customer service on both the individual and community-wide level as well as discussion of other possible career paths someone interested in obtaining an MLS degree might pursue.
