Tredway Library

With the advent of the newer smart classrooms on campus, some of you have encountered a bump in the road: how to use VHS tapes in the classroom.

In order to maintain copyright compliance, the college may not simply duplicate VHS onto DVD. The library must buy the item in the new format, and we are willing to do so for any videos that you wish to continue using. Therefore, please review the videos that you plan to use in class for the remainder of the year. If they include VHS tapes, please contact the liaison librarian for your department as soon as possible and request that a DVD be purchased.

If a DVD version of a VHS tape is not available, you can make arrangements to show the video in the Olin Auditorium (where a VHS player is still available) by calling Bonnie Hewitt at x7292. You can also place the VHS on reserve and require students to watch it in the library; we have one VCR and TV for such use.
