Tredway Library

In-Depth Research Help Appointments

Continuing the program we began last spring, we are offering students another way to receive research help: students may make an appointment online to meet with a reference librarian for one-on-one, in-depth assistance.  Students are able to choose to meet with "their" liaison librarian, or, if they do not indicate a preference, will be matched with the librarian most familiar with the assignment's subject and/or discipline.

We offer this service in response to a trend in our library of students requesting more one-on-one consultations with librarians - a trend that librarians have also observed at other institutions, including Oberlin, Grinnell, and Amherst.  This service may be most beneficial to upper-level students working on Senior Inquiry or other advanced research projects, but it is available to students in all classes at all levels.

Please share this infomation with your students as they enter the "home stretch" any term-long research assignments they may have! The form to request an appointment is accessible on our "Ask a Librarian" webpage, or you may also access the form directly.
We continue to offer our regular research help desk hours, are available for walk-in office visits, and may be reached via the yellow "Ask a Question" tab on the right side of all library webpages.

If you have any questions about this service, please contact reference librarian Anne Earel: anneeearel@augustana.edu or x7315.
