This Week's Message

Augustana College has seen major growth among our international student population in both degree and non-degree seeking students. The 2013-2014 academic year has brought in 27 new international students bringing our total population up to 73 international students, the most that we have ever had on campus..

Do you have an international student in your class?

Have you talked with your international student and thought you got the message across to them only to find out that they still did the assignment incorrectly?  What about academic integrity issues?  When you talk about citing their sources were you surprised when one may have said that they have never heard of this practice?

International students add to the diversity of our college.  They also enrich the experience of other students on campus but they can, however, cause new experiences and challenges among the faculty and administration.

Join us at this week's Friday Conversation in the Board Room for an interactive session about having international students in your classroom.  Bring your questions, comments and experiences.  A resource guide will be available for those who attend the session.
