This Week's Message

When I was young, my parents used to tell me the story of a girl who came home one afternoon to find that her parents had moved away while she was at school.  I suspect this story is urban legend passed on from parents to children as a passive-aggressive discipline method.  However, this may be how some of our students (and even faculty) are feeling after going away for three short months and returning to a campus where entire departments moved over the summer. Fortunately, they've all left forwarding addresses.

This week at Friday Conversation, we'll take a tour of new spaces on campus to find some of our re-located old friends and meet some new ones.  Please join us for our first traveling FriCo:

3:45-4:00  Gather near the new Center for Faculty Enrichment - Olin 301/303

(Wine, beer, and water will be available.)

4:00-4:20   Tour CFE and CORE offices

4:20-4:25   Stroll to the College Center

4:25-4:40   Tour the new computer lab - College Center 1st floor

(Hors d'oeuvres, soft drinks, and water will be available.)

4:40-4:45   Stroll to Sorensen

4:45-5:00   Tour ITS offices - SORN 1st floor

(Wine, beer, and water will be available.)

An elective post-FriCo tour stop will be my new office in Founders, where if everyone helps unpack just one box, my own campus move might finally be finished.

Complimentary child care in Brodahl Building is available upon request. Please CALL Karen Sheraden at extension 7350 before 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2014 if you wish to reserve a spot for your child(ren).

Hope you can join us!
