Lisa Huntsha, Archivist/Librarian (Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center) was awarded a competitive scholarship to attend the Museum Computer Network annual conference in Montreal, Canada from November 20-23, 2013. The conference examined the trend of cultural heritage organizations to rethink mission-driven digital initiatives.

Adam Kaul (Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Welfare) was awarded a Visiting Research Fellowship at the Moore Institute of the National University of Ireland in Galway.  The fellowship will partially fund travel and living expenses for the month of June, 2014.  While there, he will be expected to give at least one public lecture and work with NUI Galway graduate students.  The main research objective is to carry out ethnographic research on the interaction between buskers (street performers), tourists, local business owners, and policy makers
