Jennifer Burnham (Geography) was senior editor of a recently published Geological Society of America (GSA) Special Paper 490 titled "Mima Mounds: The Case for Polygenesis and Bioturbation."
From the book's abstract: "This volume grew out of a symposium titled, "The origin of Mima mounds and similar micro-relief features: Multidisciplinary perspectives," and a similarly themed field trip, both held at the 2008 GSA Annual Meeting. The editors of this volume firmly believe that Mima (pimple) mounds, with a contentious explanatory history that has covered nearly two centuries, deserve a closer look.
"The clarifying introduction, six chapters, and extensive appendices (including a never before published paper by Roald H. Fryxell) are sure to both resolve questions and inspire debate."
