ACTL and the Tredway Library to host Celebration of Faculty Scholarship and Teaching
Faculty and students are invited to attend the Celebration of Faculty Scholarship and Teaching – October 6-10 in the Tredway Library. It is an excellent opportunity to view faculty scholarly work and to read about how they are thinking about teaching.
During the week, faculty publications, music compositions, conference publications, photos of art, SoTL articles, and grant submissions will be on display on the second floor of the library. We hope faculty and students will take a few minutes to stop by and take a look around.
On Friday, October 10, we will have a more formal reception and presentation in which faculty and students are invited to attend. This event will take place on the second floor/north end of the Tredway Library. Two faculty presentations will take place from 4:00-5:00 pm:
- “The Selection and Preparation of Cooperating Teachers in Music Education” – Michael Zemek, Department of Music
- “What Were They Thinking?!: Using Think Alouds to Decode Hidden Worlds of Student Learning” - Lendol Calder, Department of History
A reception will take place on either side of the presentations, from 3:30-4:00 pm and from 5:00 – 5:30 pm so attendees can visit the displays and talk with faculty about their submissions.
“Faculty Reflective Practitioner Groups: A Model to Consider”
Participants of a reflective practitioner group will talk about their experiences with their discussions on teaching theories and practice.Lunch/Roundtable Discussion
