Advising

A few dates to mark on your calendars....

Webcast: Assessment-Based Strategies to Improve Academic Grit
October 30, 2013
12:00 PM -1:30  PM
Olin Auditorium

Our Student Readiness Survey measures academic grit in our incoming students. We have data to suggest that there is a link between academic grit and attrition (the Office of Institutional Research is currently digging into these data), but what can we do to improve academic grit? The advertised learning outcome of this webcast is "to be able to assist first-year students in building an educational action plan to improve academic grit."

Adventures in Advising: Explore, Discover, Collaborate, Transform
October 8-11, 2014
Minneapolis, MN

This is a fabulous conference to attend to put your finger on the pulse of what is happening in the world of advising. I've attended the last two years, and there is much for the faculty advisor to absorb! Let me know if you are interested in attending, we might make a road trip out of it!

Have a great week,
