This Week's Message

Spring term is especially hard on us as nerves are frayed. Everyone is sprinting towards a finish line that is almost visible but not fully in focus. So as we recharge ourselves for this final sprint, I want to take a minute to reflect on the term gratitude. It is a term that we don't use much these days. It has fallen out of favor as we contend with global terror, economic recession, disruptive innovations and pure exhaustion.

It is so much easier for us to complain about the weather, budgets, and students wanting to have class outside every day (or not!). It is much harder to practice gratitude and be appreciative of the role others play in making this college a special place.

So let me express gratitude: I am truly grateful to you, for your persistence, your humor and your passion for helping shape the next generation of leaders, professionals, and practitioners.

Breathe deep. Enjoy a shorter week. And please accept my gratitude for the part you play in this great community.

Sincerely,

Pareena
