Service Learning: A Must Do for Spring

As we consider the theme of social justice during the spring term, integrating service learning into one or more classes is a natural fit.  Service learning can help our students understand the perspective of others who may not have had the same privileges that they have enjoyed.  Wade (2007) notes (see attachment), students need to understand the "injustice [that] has created the need for service in the first place."  If you are interested in adding a service component to your spring term class, please contact Ellen Hay for assistance.  The attached materials may also serve as a beginning point.
