This Week's Message

The "New" CEC!!! Come Visit Us on Friday

Well, the space has been refurbished. And those who have seen it know that Sorensen has never looked so good. And many of you have stopped by for the continuing Coffee and Conversation (see the CEC page of the Newsletter). But what really makes the CEC new is the people! And we have new faces here also.

photos

Joining the CEC in the past few weeks are Eric Rowell (yes, that Eric Rowell who was in Development and of "noon-ball" fame). Eric is taking over the task of Director of Career Development. He is working hard to get to know you... and to let you know what the Career Development office has to offer you and your students. Stop by to see him. Invite him to come to your class to talk about careers. Talk to him about what he can do to be helpful to your students in their job search.

Also new is Johnna Adam, the new Director of Employer Relations and Internships. She and Eric both stepped into their positions a few days before ProFair... a PepsiCo baptism of heat and rain and electrical outages. But they did well. Johnna is working hard to coordinate and promote internships for all students. If you have contacts for internships-or students who want help in establishing internship relationships-give Johnna a call. She is eager to help you and your students.

Oh, and the space in Sorensen is new.... and we want you to come visit us. To tempt you over, we are throwing a good, old-fashioned CVR-style Friday Conversation this week. What that means is less talk and more (really good) food.... shrimp, wings, and other good surprises (and, of course, appropriate beverages). Please plan on joining us in the CEC (first floor of Sorensen) this Friday at 3:30 until the food runs out....
