Dr. David Ellis (History) and Dr. Sharon Varallo (Comm. Studies) were selected as the 2011 inductees to Phi Beta Delta, a national honor society for students, faculty and administrators involved in International Studies and Study Abroad programming. Dr. Ellis, in addition to teaching courses on European history at Augustana, participated on the 2008 European Term and will be co-directing two programs in 2011-2012, both in Germany, the Fall Term in Wittenberg and the Spring LC program in Berlin. Dr. Varallo has participated for several years in the Australia WInter program, teaching Intercultural Communications to students departing on this unique internship program in Sydney. In addition to this, Dr. Varallo was a member of the 2003 and 2006 Latin America Fall Term and has participated in CIEE International Faculty Development Seminars in both India and Spain/Morrocco. Augustana has been a member of Phi Beta Delta since 2006 and can boast over 20 current faculty and administrators as members.

Summer Internships - FUNDING AVAILABLE!

As you speak with students and advisees about summer internships, please keep in mind that there is internship funding available through the Community Engagement Center. Augie Choice is available as well as various grants. Please encourage students to make an appointment with Johnna Adam, Director of Employer Relations and Internships, to discuss available options.

We do not want financial concerns to be an obstacle to a great internship experience!
