Volume 8, Issue 19 - February 1, 2010This Week's Message
As the first-year students of 2008 finish their sophomore year at Augustana, Augie Choice has officially begun receiving applications for funding. It is a joy for me to see the faces of students who come to the CVR to pick up an application for an experience that will impact their education and their vocational journey.
Here are some key points to know & remember about Augie Choice as we advise students:
- The Augie Choice program funds international programs, internships, research, international internships, and international research.
- Students may apply for a one-time award of up to $2,000.
- Students who entered Augustana in the Fall of 2008 may apply as juniors (60+ credits) and seniors for Augie Choice funding for any of the above experiences.
- Sophomores (28+ credits) are eligible to apply for Augie Choice funding to participate in international study experiences that are offered once in a three-year cycle (i.e. Latin America term, Europe term , or East Asia term) OR if they are members of groups (i.e. athletic teams, music groups, etc.) that are engaging in a unique international study experience.
- Funds will be distributed approximately 30 days prior to the beginning of an Augie Choice experience.
I am always willing to present to departments or engage one-on-one about the process or procedures for Augie Choice. What an exciting time for Augustana students!
Regards,
Becca Poock
