Faculty News

Jane  Simonsen was re-elected as President of the Mid-America American Studies Association at MAASA's spring meeting. She served as chair of the conference planning committee for the conference, "Studying 'America?' Critical Conjunctures for the 21st Century," which was held March 25-27 at the University of Kansas in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the journal American Studies. She delivered the presidential address, titled "Regenerating Official Narratives: Regional History, Photography, and Fields of Exchange."

Jane Simonsen published an article, "'This Large Household': Architecture and Civic Identity at the Iowa Hospital for the Insane at Mount Pleasant" in the spring, 2010 volume of The Annals of Iowa.
