Center for Vocational Reflection (CVR)

Advancing Augustana (NOTE the TIME CHANGES!)

The CVR is sponsoring a series of conversations led by Pres. Bahls for faculty to have opportunity for input about the overall situation of the college and how we should proceed, especially in light of the economic situation.  The remaining conversations, all in the Evald Great Hall, are scheduled for:

Wednesday, September 16  (originally Thurs., Sept. 17th at 10:30 AM)
4:00 PM
Evald Great Hall

Thurs., October 8
11:30 AM   (originally 10:30  AM)
Evald Great Hall

Thurs., October 22
11:30 AM   (originally 10:30 AM)
Evald Great Hall

Please put these on your calendar.  This will be one significant opportunity for faculty to provide input on a series of questions that we face as a college.  Each of the conversations will focus on an issue:

Sept. 16:

What are the advantages and disadvantages of enrollment at various levels?
Is there an 'optimal number' for enrollment at Augustana?

Oct. 8:

How could we build flexibility into the system to adjust to variation in enrollment/endowment?

Oct. 22:

What have we learned from the last five years?
