This Week's Message

Community Engagement - Communication

If any of you have embarked on the adventure named, Ingeniux, you are familiar with the culture shock of new language, key functions, and publishing in the land of CMS. The new calendar feature provides a whole new world for community engagement for Augustana College.  Adding new events for students, faculty and beyond enables learning to reach further than our classrooms and labs.

The beauty of a liberal arts education stretches students beyond their major and into the diversity of their communities. Through the Center for Vocational Reflection, students can discover volunteer opportunities in the Quad Cities Area. Many organizations and agencies contact the CVR and Career Center with internships throughout the year, but with the updated calendar feature on our website, communicating about opportunities for volunteering and service projects abound.

Communication is key for volunteer recruitment, and Augustana continues to grow in the area of sharing our experiences. As we engage in various neighborhoods and with unique organizations, we must share the stories we add to our own. This spring, the CVR will introduce a page on the Augustana website to celebrate our community engagement and communicate about upcoming opportunities. We hope you share the vision with us as we seek to engage and celebrate!
