'Messiah' soloist has family ties to college

For the first time in nearly 100 years, Handel's "Messiah" at Augustana College wasn't performed this past Christmas season. Instead it is being done this Sunday – Palm Sunday – at 3 p.m. in Centennial Hall.

The soprano soloist is Kathryn Mueller, whose husband's grandfather graduated from Augustana in 1920 and later from Augustana Seminary.

"I've wanted to sing 'Messiah' at Augie for years, and I'm so excited that it finally worked out for this year’s performance," she said.
