Guest panel and seminar for non-profits

The Augustana Department of Political Science will host a seminar on non-profit organizations, with a guest panel presentation and Q&A led by Dr. Alex Cohen, assistant professor of political science.

Guest speakers:

Deb Kuntzi, president of the Friends of the Hauberg Civic Center Foundation. The foundation is devoted to the ongoing restoration of the Hauberg Estate, a Rock Island landmark built in 1911. It assists the city in maintaining the property, its restoration, marketing activities and scheduling docent-led tours.

Tom Bowman, CEO of Community Health Care, Inc.  Its mission is to provide communities in the Quad Cities area with excellence in patient-centered medical, dental, and behavioral health care that is compassionate, affordable and accessible.

April Berthiaume, director of Child Care Resource and Referral of Midwestern Illinois, where she develops and manages budgets, writes grants and manages a team of 17 staff members. The agency focuses on managing the Child Care Assistance Program subsidy through the Illinois Department of Human Services to support families working and going to school to offset the costs of child care, providing referrals for child care, and providing training and development for early care and education professionals.
