Corey Trahan masterclass

Dr. Corey Trahan, director of musical theatre for the International Performing Arts Institute in Thailand and Germany, will conduct a masterclass.

He is an actor, educator and stage director in opera, oratorio, music theatre, operetta and recital venues.

Dr. Trahan will participate in several events at Augustana Sunday and Monday:

On Nov. 19, he will perform "The Stud and the Babe" musical theatre concert with Augustana's Shelley Cooper, assistant professor of theatre arts. They will be accompanied by Dr. Luke Tyler, assistant professor of music at Loras College. This performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Wallenberg Hall, Denkman Memorial Building.

On Nov. 20, Trahan and Cooper will offer a lecture, "The Business of Theatre," from 10-11:15 a.m. in the Black Box Theatre in the Brunner Theatre Center. They will discuss non-profit and commercial theatre, and specifically non-profit management for theatre.

Also on Nov. 20, they will conduct interviews and auditions for the International Performing Arts Institute in Bavaria, and Germany Opera/Musical Theatre and Directing Fellowship. This will take place from 12:30-2:30 p.m.; location to be announced.
