Masterworks IV: Joined by a River

The program opens with the subtle and melodic Dawn on the Moscow River by Mussorgsky, colorfully orchestrated by Rimsky-Korsakov. Then, the QCSO continues its tradition of commissioned World Premieres with Michael Abels’ new work inspired by our river journey. Adored Concertmaster Naha Greenholtz will thrill you in Mozart’s playful Violin Concerto #5. The program closes with Mozart’s majestic Prague Symphony and Johann Strauss, Jr.’s evergreen Blue Danube Waltz.
