About Books began in 1998, with Faye Clow co-hosting the program with Sue (Williams) O’Dell, reference librarian at Augustana College. When Sue departed, Augustana Library Director Jonathan Miller stepped in for his turn in the co-host chair, followed on Jonathan's departure by the ubiquitous Kai Swanson. Kai announced his departure from the show in early 2006, leaving Faye Clow to carry on the About Books in a solo role. |

Quad City artist Bruce Carter hosts this weekly live conversation between artists. The program features painters, sculptors, musicians, arts administrators, poets, and others involved in our region's artistic life. The trees, hills and rivers of Bruce's oil pastel paintings reflect the ever-expanding curiosity of this artist-turned-radio-host. His experience as an artist infuses his interviews with an understanding that makes Art Talks a favorite among listeners involved in all phases of the creative process. |

Rock Island Lines with Roald Tweet Weekdays at 11:00 am, and at 6:30 pm |

 An ongoing series of award-winning stories about our region's traditions, institutions, and people, past and present. Rock Island Lines is written and read by Roald Tweet, Professor Emeritus of English at Augustana College. The stories in these three-minute modules are rooted in a specific place; a “kidney-shaped limestone island plunked down in the middle of the Mississippi River.” It’s the logical site for a storyteller.
It is from the rich heritage of our region that Tweet spins his histories, biographies, and “stretchers.” Roald has spent much of his life travelling up and down the river, with forays overland, east and west, talking to the people, reading their journals, and enjoying the humor and history of America’s heartland. Jazz After Hours Saturday nights at 10:00 pm |

Don Wooten plays two hours of jazz from the WVIK library. Jazz After Hours is the oldest jazz program in Quad cities radio. It began in the fall of 1950, with co-hosts Don Wooten and Jack Payne (leader of the Ambassadors, a local band) on WHBF. |
