| ►ABOUT ME |

|
PERSONAL INFO When I am not doing and teaching chemistry or biochemistry (see below; also Courses and Research), I spend time with my husband, William, and our two cats, Klaus and Lossey. I also love to read and work in the garden. My husband sings and plays guitar at venues around the Quad Cities Area - he is involved with a group of acoustic musicians called the River Prairie Minstrels, which plays monthly on the first Staurday of the month at the River Music Experience in Davenport, IA.Several times a year, my husband and I dress up and go to Renaissance Festivals. At these festivals, in addition to having fun, we play celtic music, and debuting in September 2007, Pam does chemistry demonstrations as a renaissance alchymist - "Dr. Pamel" (photo at left). We'll both be performing at the upcoming Four Kingdoms Renaissance Festival September 26th and 27th , 2009. In spring 2009, I had opportunity to teach on the Vienna Term abroad with Augustana colleagues, Dan Culver (music) and Bill Coker (psychology). I taught a course entitled "Genes, Germs and Quanta" (CH301), covering a number of famous natural scientists from the area. The other two courses will be about Viennese music/history and Sigmund Freud. Check out a few pics from the trip: Vienna. |
