Ken Brink (1913-2001) was a lifelong resident of Moline and spent his professional life as a cost accountant at John Deere. He was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church, where his father was the minister, until the church dissolved. Brink then became a member of First Congregational Church, where he continued to be an active member of the congregation and the church choir. Always an outdoors man, Brink joined the Black Hawk Hiking Club in the late 1940s. He was a 50-year member of the Club, and he participated in numerous "Big Hikes" over a span of three decades. Brink, in his retirement, volunteered at the Augustana College Special Collections. |
The Ken Brink collection dates from 1962 to 1995 and measures approximately 0.5 linear feet. The collection consists of a single series: Slides of Black Hawk Hiking Club hikes.
The Slides of Black Hawk Hiking Club hikes series (1962-1995; undated) contains slides of the trips taken by the Black Hawk Hiking Club between 1962 and 1995. These trips had a variety of domestic and international destinations, including Idaho, New Mexico, Canada, and Russia. |
