ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY
Aglaia Honor Society was founded in 1940 as an honors society for senior class women at Augustana College. The Society chose to name itself after Algaia, or "Brillance," one of the three graces of Greek mythology.

 

SCOPE AND CONTENT

The Aglaia Honor Society records include the Secretary's Book, containing meeting minutes (1940-1960), a treasury ledger (1958-1960), correspondence, and a list of initiates (1940-1959). Other records include a copy of the Society's constitution, a script for an initiation service, an annual report for 1963-1964, and a file of newsclippings about the Society.
