HISTORICAL NOTE

The College Interclass League at Augustana College and Theological Seminary formed in 1903 with the object to "promote interest in literary and athletic work among the students of the four college classes" (College Interclass League Constitution, undated). Membership included all students in the College Department who were taking a minimum of 10 hours of regular college work. Interested members of the league would meet periodically to organize and arrange events such as athletic events, oratorical contests, or debates. The meeting minutes suggest that inter-collegiate debates were the most regular events.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

This collection contains evidence of the inner workings of the league including its constitution, minutes, and some financial records. As the collection is very small, the items have been arranged as one series.
