HISTORICAL NOTE

The Iduna Society was an organization founded November 21, 1902 and disbanded in the academic year 1925-1926. It was one of five Augustana College societies dedicated to the further exploration of the Swedish language through Swedish literature. Iduna was the only coed group of the five and also had the least stringent membership requirements with all students being eligible. The group produced a monthly publication called Iduna and sought to promote the Swedish language amongst younger students.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

The Iduna Society records contain three handwritten copies of the student publication in Swedish, a bound book of  meeting minutes of the Iduna Society in Swedish, and several miscellaneous documents in both English and Swedish.
