HISTORICAL NOTE

The Omicron Sigma Omicron fraternity was founded at Augustana College in 1920. The fraternity's first composite photograph, appearing in in the 1921-1922 issue of the Rockety-I yearbook, pictures ten early members: Palmer Nestander, Clarence Anderzon, Curtis Wiberg, Eugene “Gene” Lothgren, Arther “Brownie” Larson, Clarence Hall, Einar “Red” Kron, Eugene “Gene” Nordgren, Earl Hanson and Thure Fagerstrom. The original acronym for the Omicron Sigma Omicron fraternity was “Oso,” but it changed to “OZO” sometime in the 1960s. In December of 1980, the fraternity disbanded as it turned in its charter; it was re-established in 1983.

Remainder of finding aid restricted. Active members and alumni of Omicron Sigma Omicron may access a collection description and box list in Special Collections.
