CUSTODIAL HISTORY

This scrapbook was found in an Augustana College campus house near Sorenson Hall and donated to Special Collections in Fall 2010. 

 
ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Ethel Elvera Pearson attended Augustana from 1918 to 1922. A graduate of Davenport High School, she majored in biological science at Augustana. While at Augustana, Pearson was a member of the Adelphic Society, Edward Everett Debating Club, the Augustana Foreign Missionary Society, and the Senior Girlís Club. She was a founding member of the Phi Rho sorority and was on the Class Honor Roll. She acted as the Science Club secretary and treasurer in 1921 and 1922, and the Womanís Club treasurer in those years as well. Pearson graduated from Augustana in 1922 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and became engaged to Paul Reinertson (í21). She later taught the University High School in Normal, Illinois.  

 
SCOPE AND CONTENT

The Ethel E. Pearson scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, programs, souvenirs, pictures, wedding invitations, pressed flowers, Valentines, Christmas cards, academic reports, tuition bills, scorecards, ticket stubs, and fellow students' autographs. The materials document Ethelís time at Augustana and are related to the social and personal activities she was involved in between 1918 and 1922.
